I’m not sure how much I’ve talked about our Orlando vacation here and I don’t really feel like going back to check so I’ll do a quick refresher just in case.

Joe and I have decided to go to Orlando, FL for our 5 year anniversary (of our first date) at the end of Oct. / beginning of Nov. We went through a travel agency so they could get everything together for and get us the best deal. We finally booked it a few weeks ago and I was feeling a bit uneasy about some thing and there were some miscommunications so we decided to stop in yesterday and see if we could get it all figured out.

The lady who helped us managed to get us into the original hotel we wanted and saved us $250 so I am feeling MUCH better about the trip now. She was patient and understanding and saw how we got confused and where things get wrong. I’m so thankful we didn’t have to go in search of nc attorneys to get it all figured out – it was pretty painless!

So here’s the itinerary:

Staying 5 nights at the Embassy Suites: Lake Buena Vista

-October 28th – drive to Orlando
October 29th – Epcot Center
October 30th – SeaWorld
October 31st – Universal
November 1st – TBD
November 2nd – drive home

I’m excited to have it all planned out and ALMOST completely paid for already! That’s the great thing about using a travel agency – payment plans and everything is paid for by the time you actually TAKE the trip and any money you have can be used for fun and food!

168 days and counting!

So, we got up early (for us :P) and went o lunch with my mom, sisters and the kids for Mother’s day. Since we usually sleep in on Sundays and have brunch, I wasn’t really feeling the seafood.. but that was the only option so I had to go with it. I got a house salad with boiled shrimp and a baked potato – it was OK… but for a salad to be good, it needs CHEESE! And lots of it! Mama seemed to enjoy hers though and Joe enjoyed his shrimp and clam strips so I consider it a successful endeavor!

Mama liked her presents as well – she had already bought HERSELF a new iphone case after telling me she wanted one! That women, I swear :P She decided she liked mine better though so.. I win! Also showed her how to google some egyptian magic cream reviews so she can decide if she wants that for her birthday – she’s so hard to shop for! Me and Katrina complain about that every year.

Now we are chillin’ at home watching TV while it storms outside… I have to say, I think rainy Sundays with Joe by my side are my favorite things in the world <3 It doesn’t get much better than that!

Joe is officially an old man now – he threw out his back trying to impress his coworkers at the company picnic. You know those thing were you try to hit it as hard and you can with a sledge hammer and try to reach the top to ring the bell? Well he did that like 10+ times and royally screwed up his back and chest muscles… silly man.

So, he’s been TRYING to lay low all weekend… but unfortunately, we have things we HAVE to get done so it hasn’t been easy :/ I feel bad for him but it’s mother’s Day weekend and I had to go shopping and stuff ::guilty:: Guess it would be too much to ask for him to get out there and crank up the manual push mower? Probably not :P Hopefully, he’ll start feeling better soon… that’ll teach him to try to impress people with his strength though (hopefully)!

I got her a photo book of the kids, me and Katrina and some pictures of herself that she likes. Also got her a new iphone case, some candy and of course some beautiful roses with my 1800 flowers coupons – she’ll be proud I got such a deal on all her gifts ;) I probably paid $20 for all of it total – good deal!

Her birthday is NEXT Saturday and Katrina’s is the day after so I’m not quite done buying gifts yet! May is an expensive month for me, that’s for sure!

Hope everyone has a wonderful Mother’s day tomorrow and remember to tell your mom how much you love and how you important she is in your life – they love to hear that! <3

So… I was a bit let down by the Fringe finale :( Unfortunately, I think they hyped it WAY too much and it didn’t quite deliver for me.

First of all they promised only one world would survive… and yet, they’re both still there (as far as we know). 2ndly, they said Olivia had to die.. but then she came right back to life so that was a bit of a cop out. Third, their big “shocker” was something we already learned in the 19th episode (the future) – so Olivia being pregnant isn’t quite the cliffhanger I wanted.

All in all, I guess it was a good episode… just shouldn’t have hyped it to be a lot of things that it wasn’t. I think if they hadn’t pushed it so hard that I would have been able to like it for what it was – a reasonably good episode. It did have the classic Walter humor that is necessary for a good Fringe episode – him trying to drink pee because he thinks it’s jello and rambling about anything from red vines to park model trailers – love Walter <3 and especially the Walter / Astro relationship, hehe.

Still, I can’t wait for season 5 to see how it ALL ends..

So the new job is going OK for the most part… I’ve gotten more calls today than I have for the entire week. I feel like I’m working with not enough information here… I have to make appointments for things I don’t understand, in locations I don’t know for companies I’ve never heard of and I’m supposed to know when and how to schedule them… it’s been OK but it is a little frustrating KNOWING I can’t do everything right with such limited information to work with.

Example: I Had a call this morning to schedule an appointment in Martinez, GA for 7:30AM – which was fine, I live in that city and I know how far it is from the city in the next appointment (Newberry< SC) but then the guy calls back and says he needs to add more work (hours) and change the time and says he'll call back... and he never does. I can't call HIM back because it's a 1800 and they want a special code to reach someone - which i do not have... I know it's not technically my fault, but I feel stupid for it anyways... It's like you need to become a CPA Raleigh NC style to understand all these codes and tech talk! But it’s a job and I’m going to figure out how to make it work!

Hopefully…

Ok, So apparently that was NOT the season finale of “Greys Anatomy”, that’ll be on next week so we’ll address that then.

But it WAS the season finale of “Vampire Diaries” and it did not disappoint! It was pretty amazing and I can honestly say I did NOT see that ending coming! Aside from Elena and Damon not hooking up – this episode was perfect! I was sad, I was shocked, I was heart broken and then shocked again! Here’s what we learned: (SPOILERS below!!)

1. Damon DID meet Elena first – OMG, WHAT!? This changes everything – and won’t Elena remember now because…

2. SHES A VAMPIRE! What!? I did not see that coming at all! Although i should have because that’s exactly how “Breaking Dawn Pt. 1″ ended but still… wowsers.

3. Alaric is dead :( for realsies this time! We can finally pull out that Funeral planning worksheet and let the poor man rest in peace <3 I’m glad he came to Jeremy in the end and showed that the nice Alaric was the real him and not the evil Vampire Hunter.

4. Tyler is Klaus?! Awesome. But, is Tyler dead?

5. Poor Elena having to watch her parents die.. how horrific.

Anyways, I am certainly excited for next season now! Too bad that whole season of summer is in the way :(

Ugh… my air conditioner is leaking again. It happened last summer as well – the insulation in the attic gets caught in the drain tubes that are supposed to take the excess cooling water OUT of the house. But since they are clogged the water is gathering in a pan and overflowing into the ceiling… I can hear it leaking as we speak. Joe’s got a hurt back (more on that later) so it’s going to be difficult for him to get up there and fix it but something HAS to be done before it gets too bad…

We’ve got to go to Papa’s after work to pick up a Shop-Vac which can suck the insulation out of the drain tubes and let the water flow out… I just hope it will be OK til then. I’ve turned the air off so hopefully that will help. Air conditioners are a constant problem in the south it seems… do you northerners have as much trouble with your heaters?! Or do you just sit by your cozy fire with your cabin decor and hot coffee? :P Sometimes, I think you guys have it easier! But then I remember how cold winter can be and that you have to shovel snow and I change my mind ;)

I am … pretty sad it’s season finale time already. It seems it came on super fast this year! I don’t feel like I got a full season from any show.. but I know that’s not true – almost all of them had more than 20 episodes. I guess time just goes by faster as you age ::depression::

None of the season finales so far have been very good… “New Girl” was a let down, “The Office” was awful, “Big Bang Theory” was just OK … I’ve still got “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Vampire Diaries” to watch today and they are notorious for amazing season finales ::fingers crossed:: Other than that I’m not too psyched about anything… Alcatraz got cancelled and we’re bummed about that. We really enjoyed that show and it’s mysteries – I don’t know why no one else did.

I also heard “Community” and “Parks and Rec” have been cancelled… For “Parks and Rec” – I think the way it ended was perfect <3 I hate to see it go but if it has to – this was a great ending. I’m hearing conflicting reports about half seasons for both of them but I don’t know what’s true – guess we’ll see!

Oh, I forgot a finale I AM SUPER PSYCHED ABOUT! FRINGE! Tonight at 9 – I cannot wait! This has quickly become my favorite show <3 It’s certainly been an interesting season.. but I am happy to see the old random Walter coming back with his innate chatter about pie, red vines, yoyos, more pie – you know, whatever comes to his mind at any given time ;) I hope they don’t erase everything again… that’s very disconcerting to the viewer and CONFUSING!

I’ve finally gotten Joe watching it too – we are marathoning it and are now on season 2 – needless to say, he loves it ;) Of course he does, he’s a nerd!

So, this week at labs I weighed in EXACTLY the same as I did less than two weeks ago. Not what a wanted, but not a gain so I will take it. I’ve been a little slack on my exercising the past 2 weeks so there ya go. I will be stepping it up for the next appointment and there WILL be a loss on that scale – guaranteed!

I am still on track for my goal of 50lbs by October 28th (Disney Trip) – Joe is taking a little more prodding ;) He’s gotten it in his head that he can do whatever he wants and he’ll lose weight – it was true for him for a while there but it’s definitely starting to wear off. He’ll come around! It’s definitely a process that you constantly have to work at.. but we can do it!
